SEOUL, July 2 (Yonhap) — South Korean boy band EXO’s “Call Me Baby” became the most-viewed K-pop music video on YouTube for the first half of this year, the group’s management agency said Thursday.
The video for “Call Me Baby,” released worldwide on May 31, has since drawn more than 52 million views as of Thursday, according to S.M. Entertainment.
The number includes 11.76 million views for the video’s Chinese-language version.
EXO’s second full-length album “Exodus,” which includes the song “Call Me Baby,” has set a milestone in sales.
The album and its repackaged version have sold about 1.19 million copies in total through June 30. The milestone came two years after EXO became the first group to reach platinum in 12 years in the local pop music industry with the combined sales of its first album “XOXO (Kisses & Hugs)” and the repackaged album.
