9:00 – 4:30 P.M.

How’s your career going?

Do you want to take your career to the next level but are unsure how to go about it? In this modern age of digital advancement, cultural dissonance, and generational shift in how we all perceive the thing that most of us predominantly spend our time… our jobs inevitably define us.  The question you need to ask yourself is, do you like that definition of you?

Dr. Ron Brown is one of the most sought-after corporate trainers in the U.S.  AAJA Asia is pleased to bring him to Seoul, with the kind support of Cathay Pacific Airlines to share him with our Chapter members to help get you past your career rut.

Learn how to take control by learning the language of power and leadership.  Develop a personal blueprint to drive your goals in the newsroom.  Gain best strategies to negotiate from a position of strength, in whatever you want to achieve.

Dr. Ron Brown, who has worked with newsroom leaders and managers of Fortune 100 companies, will lead an intimate workshop at N3CON SEOUL for those aspiring to take on leadership roles at their media organizations.

Course Goal
Along with mastering the everyday challenges of rapid organizational change, leaders also face the realities of navigating the new and critical power circuits within their newsrooms and companies. Successful Asian leaders in western organizations need to be grounded in the nature of power and understand its rules to be effective decision maker and manage their careers. By exploring the concepts of power and leadership, managers will gain a new understanding of the core dynamics of organizational life and develop strategies to make their strengths work for them — not against them.

Recommended Prerequisite

Participants will be better able to apply this course to their evolving leadership competencies if they have a minimum 3+ years experience in the field and have previously taken an introductory leadership course.

Dr. Brown will lead the group in discussions on:
• the importance of power in achieving career success
• the relationship between power and leadership • the cultural and gender challenges in gaining and using power and leadership • how to develop personal strategies for achievement, power and leadership.
