LG Electronics has presented the G Flex, its first smart device featuring a curved screen.
The new model has a six-inch plastic OLED display that curves inward from top and bottom. Samsung Electronics also rolled out a similar curved-screen smartphone last month.
LG said the G Flex also has a curved battery, which affiliate LG Chem beginning production last month.
The G Flex has a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and uses the mobile network Long-Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A).
The device has all of its buttons on its back, and also features new features like “KnockOn,” which allows users to turn on their phones by tapping the display twice.
LG gave no specifics on the price, but said the G Flex will go on sale in Korea next week.
